A shower for baby Clara

Hello there!!

A few months ago we received a very special request: to help sweet Paula from My Brigadeiro organize and decorate a baby shower for a dear friend. We jumped at the opportunity to work with the My Brigadeiro  crew and had an incredible amount of fun putting all the ideas together and making sure it all worked at the end.
To be a little different from the usual baby shower themes, we decided to decorate with flowers. Lots of flowers! Pink and gold were the main color scheme.

We decorated different areas of the house with paper flowers, garlands and baby clothing.Stacie, from Fancy and Fold created the cake topper and the wall words. Once again, such a pleasure working with her!

We placed the mom-to-be baptism dress on top of the cake table and filled the table with sweet "wish cakes" and cupcakes. The amazing pink cake, also created by Paula, had a vanilla and dulce de leche top tear and chocolate in the bottom, and was decorated with ombre icing roses.

The food was all prepared by Paula herself  and her team and was served in bite portions. The deviled eggs were extra delicious!!  Real flowers arrangements were supplied by Robert's Flowers of Hanover.

A "Bubbly Bar" with an assortment of Prosecco and juice was added to the menu.

The guests played games of "Guess the baby food" and "Smell the poop". They also wrote messages on diapers to be used at late night changes and put on paper their wishes for the baby.

To make the mom-to-be life a little easier, all the guests wrote down their own addresses on envelopes that will be later used for thank you cards.
The guests left the party with a small bottle of Moet Chandon Rose with the tag "Pop for Clara", so they can send a cheer to baby Clara and her parents when they hear the big news. Everybody also took home handmade chocolates (brigadeiros) and hand cream flown all the way from Brazil, especially for this event.

The mom-to-be wore a flower crown on her head to go with the overall decor! Didn't she look lovely?!

And just so dad-to-be didn't feel left out, we prepared a "dad's kit" for him, complete with candy, iced tea, rubber gloves, headache medicine, wipes and a few other goodies!! We heard he loved it!

It was such a fun and love filled party! We are all anxiously waiting for baby Clara's arrival!

Tchau for now!

Paw Patrol(ing)!

Hello Peeps!!

This time we had fun organizing a Paw Patrol party. My son just loves those pups and his mind was set on that theme for his party very early on!

The venue for this party was one of his favorite places to be: his gymnastics! His regular instructor was kind enough to make sure she was the one doing his party. So thank you Phyllis!
But, because they concentrate on the fun, the actual space for decorations, cake, presents, etc., is a bit cramped. We solved this problem by putting all the food on the big table the kids were going to eat at, and leaving only the cakes and a couple of sweets on a decorated table.

Cake and sweets table. All decorated!

Scooby snacks

Mini roll dogs

Utensils and pup mask

We served pizza as a main dish, but the kids also had min dog rolls, chips, fruit and scooby snack cookies. All served in dog bowls!

As to my son's request, the cake was chocolate with brigadeiro, marshmallow, and mousse fillings, covered with chocolate buttercream icing. Pretty rich and oh, so good!! They also had regular brigadeiros and chocolate covered Oreo cookies.

After one full hour of running around and learning/doing gymnastics tricks, the 18 kids had their yummy snacks and sang happy birthday to a very happy boy!

Before the party was over, every child "adopted" a puppy and had to commit they would take good care of it!

It was a paw-ferct paw-ty!!

Tchau for now!

Muahahahah

I LOVE Halloween! I love to dress the kids up, I love to take them trick or treating, I love to watch their faces when they count all that candy! Of course, we had to have a house party with lots of friends to go with all that fun!!

In previous years, my daughter was always the one insisting on inviting some friends over to hang out and eat cupcakes (surprise, surprise), the night before Halloween. This year, my son who is now 4, decided he also had rights over the "Pre-Halloween Hangout" and asked me to invite some of his friends. We fully embraced the idea and had lots of kids over!

The party happened the night before Halloween. All the kids (and some parents) had costumes on, plus there was a basket full of costume props, just in case anybody was shy to dress up before coming!!

We prepared a sweets table with poison apples, mini cupcakes, marshmallow monsters, chocolate covered pretzels, meringue cookies, and monster macaroons. Everybody was allowed to dig into it only after their bellies was full of sloppy joes! ahahah We also served "Frankie-uamole", cheese and crackers, candy popcorn, and witches brew (fruit  juice).

The kids had a blast on the dance floor, and also played games of pin the nose on the skeleton, fear factor, and stump the balloon. The fear factor game was a success, and even though there were kids who weren't so sure about sticking their hands in a paper bag to touch witch brain, all of them got to the prize bucket at the end. Some of them even went twice! They also really enjoyed trying to pop each other balloons, while trying to protect their own!
Here's a list of the bags contents in the fear factor game:

Witch Brain = cooked spaghetti
Witch Fingers = sliced carrots
Monster Teeth = corn kernels
Eyeballs = peeled grapes
Witch Tongue = long sliced bananas
Monster Ears = dried appricots
Monster Hair = yarn

At the end of the night, everybody got a little Halloween bag to be filled up with all their prizes and goodies they wanted to take home.

The next day, everybody around here was pretty tired but happy, and trick or treating around the neighborhood went smoothly!!

I hope you also had a great Halloween night!!

Tchau for now!
